Centre for Material Forming (CEMEF) is offering two postdoctoral positions: Development of miscanthus/sorgho polymer composites; Development of miscanthus/sorgho concrete. Both topics involve to work within the Biomass for the Future consortia, with many regular exchanges with academic and industrial scientists. The duration of these postdoctoral positions are 12 months extendable to 18 months. These postdoctoral positions include salary about 34 000⬠per year.

Eligibility:Â To be eligible for this postdoctoral fellowship following qualifications are essential:
-Candidates must have a PhD in a field related with one of the two topics. The selected post-doctoral scientists will have to manage independently their own project and must be willing to work as part of a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will have to closely interact with all partners including the French companies involved in the project. They are expected to publish their results in internationally-recognized journals.

Scholarship Description: CEMEF is recruiting two post-doctoral scientists:
Topic 1: Development of miscanthus/sorgho polymer composites
A main objective of the research has two objectives. The first part is dealing with the establishment of the relationship between composite properties and plant characteristics (composition, structure, other traits) and with the understanding of the basic, fundamental reasons lying behind these relations. This will involve close connections with biology teams. The second part consists in developing the processing methods for preparing composites able to replace glass fibre composites.
Topic 2: Development of miscanthus/sorgho concrete
The development of these nat ural fibre concrete materials will be conducted in close collaboration with R&D departments of major companies, with the objective of preparing light, mechanically strong and insulating products. Work will involve working both on biomass treatments and on methods for preparing blocks. Both topics involve to work within the Biomass for the Future consortia, with many regular exchanges with academic and industrial scientists.
