Center for Social Innovation at Stanford Graduate School of Business is offering three fellowships for GSB students and recent alumni in USA. Graduating MBA2s and Sloan Fellows, as well as GSB alumni who have graduated within 3 years of Fellowship application can apply for this fellowship. This one year fellowship includes stipends to cover salary, travel, cost of goods or other appropriate expenses. Applicants must have a good academic record. Application should be submitted by April 14, 2014.

Eligibility:-A graduating Stanford MBA or Sloan student in good academic standing.
-A GSB alumnus/who has graduated within 3 years of fellowship application.
-A team consisting of at least one of the above plus a graduating Stanford student/alum from another Stanford graduate program.
Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Students of USA (graduating MBA2s and Sloan Fellows, as well as GSB alumni who have graduated within 3 years of Fellowship application) are eligible for this USA fellowship.
Scholarship Description: The Social Innovation Fellowship (SIF) Program enables GSB students and recent alumni with a novel idea for addressing an important social or environmental problem to devote a full year to building their vision into a viable nonprofit or hybrid organization. MBA and Sloan graduating students, as well as GSB alumni within three years of graduating are eligible to apply for the one-year fellowship. The SIF program was initiated in 2009 by the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Up to three 12-month stipends of $80,000 for individuals or $120,000 for a team will be awarded each year in May for fellowships beginning that summer and concluding the following summer. Objectives of the Fellowship are to contribute to the creation of effective social ventures and to increase the chances for success of these ventures by providing financial support and leveraging the unique resources that CSI/GSB has to offer.
Number of award(s): Three fellowships are offered.
Duration of award(s): Twelve-month fellowships are awarded to up to three applicants or teams annually.
What does it cover? Fellows receive:
-A stipend up to $80,000 per student or up to $120,000 per team.
-Support and oversight from the Center for Social Innovation.
-Semi finalist status in the Echoing Green Fellowship competition.
-Semi finalist status in the Dell Social Innovation Challenge. -Fast-track status in Unreasonable Institute application process.
-Also, SIF finalists who are current students will be automatically invited to join the Stanford Venture Studio resident program. They may be used for salary, travel, cost of goods, or other appropriate expenses.
Selection Criteria: Judging criteria will include, among other things:
⢠a clear understanding of the problem to be addressed;
⢠well-formed plans to test hypotheses (i.e. regarding adoptability, key drivers, risks);
⢠applicant qualifications;
⢠and the level of commitment. Judges reserve the right not to award Fellowships if they do not feel that any venture meets the prize criteria.
Notification: Finalists will be notified in April 18.
