National Institute for Health and Care Excellence scholarships in the field of health and social care in UK. NICE Scholarships are typically awarded to specialist registrars, senior nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals, service improvement leads, public health and social care specialists and health service managers. NICE aim to appoint 10 NICE Scholars each year. NICE Scholars are not paid. Eligibility:Â All applicants, whether for Fellowships or Scholarships, must:
-Be health or social care professionals working within the U.K.
-Understand the role and work of NICE and have a commitment to improving the quality of health and social care.
-Have the agreement of their employers to apply for the programme and, if selected, to spend the necessary time on programme activities.
-Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Have the ability to establish effective working relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders at all levels.
-Be able to start their Fellowship or Scholarship activities by 1stApril 2014.
-Have a commitment to promoting equality and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
-Complete and sign a declaration of interest form as part of their application and be prepared to update it annually
-Be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement before attending meetings at NICE
-Individuals will NOT be eligible if: they meet any of the disqualification criteria that apply to members of NICEâs advisory bodies and their proposed project or activity will receive funding from industry.
Scholarship Open for International Students:Â The students of UK (health or social care professionals working within the U.K.) can apply for these scholarships.
Scholarship Description:  NICE Scholarships are one-year opportunities for qualified health and social care professionals to find out about the inner workings of NICE and undertake a supported improvement project, related to NICE guidance, within their local organisation. View examples of potential projects that might be suitable activities for Scholars. NICE Scholars are supported in their project via a series of workshops, access to a very experienced senior mentor and contact with the expert teams at NICE. Scholars are expected to devote approximately 7.5 hours per week to their Scholarship project.
