International Water Center offers scholarships for Australian students in Australia. Scholarships are offered to assist talented emerging water leaders in organisations with limited resources for professional development to access the IWC Water Leadership Program. Eight scholarships (four full and four half) are offered. The program will commence from 1st December 2013. Application should be submitted till 18th September 2013 for 2013/14 round.
Study Subject(s): The International WaterCentre Water Leadership Program helps emerging leaders develop the abilities they need to exert influence, drive change and advance challenging integrated water management projects abilities associated with the most effective integrated water management leaders.
Course Level: This is a nine months program to build capacity to continually develop as a water industry leader over his/her career.

Eligibility: -Project and middle managers in the Australian water sector who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia Who have:
-At least three years of experience working in the water sector
-A current professional role that is consistent with the criteria linked to at least one available scholarship (see below scholarship sponsors for details)
-English language proficiency
-Organisational support from current employer to attend the program (if currently employed)
-An ability to attend the face-to-face training sessions in Brisbane on 3-7 February and 3-4 July 2014
-A strong commitment to learning and personal development
-A desire to complement their technical and management skills with advanced leadership capabilities
An aspiration to improve their ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in order to deliver more integrated forms of water management
Scholarship Open for International Students: Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia can apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Description: Every year the IWC offers several merit-based scholarships to assist talented emerging water leaders in organisations with limited resources for professional development to access the IWC Water Leadership Program. Designed to build your capacity to continually develop as a water industry leader over your career, this nine-month program features a balance between academic and real-world approaches to learning including:
-mentoring activities with experienced water industry executives such as Ms Jude Munro, Prof Rob Skinner, Prof John Langford, Mr Mark Pascoe and/or Prof Paul Greenfield
-a sound research and theoretical basis, including conceptual models of effective water leaders, leadership processes and leadership development
-peer review of program design, content and evaluation by leading industry practitioners and academics.

What does it cover? The scholarships will provide
-Full scholarships: For full scholarships (AU$10,000), recipients will not have to pay the course fee ($8,000 not including relevant taxes) and will be provided with $2,000 at the start of the program to cover any expenses associated with participating in the program (e.g. travel to Brisbane and accommodation).
- For half scholarships (AU$5,000), recipients will receive a reduction in the course fee. Half scholarships do not include an expense allowance for travel and accommodation.
Selection criteria: The scholarship assessment process considers the following criteria:
-Compliance with mandatory criteria for entry to the program.
-The extent to which the participant is ready to benefit from the program.
-The potential benefits from enhancing the participantsâ leadership ability.
-The extent to which the participant has the characteristics typically associated with people who benefit the most from leadership development programs.
-The extent to which the participantsâ organization should be able to provide financial support to enable them to access the program.
