Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne is offering teaching fellowships in Australia. In order to be eligible for a Teaching Fellowship applicant must either be enrolled in our PhD Program or have submitted a formal application for admission to the PhD Program in 2014. Teaching Fellowship is for one year, and will extend the Fellowship after each 12 month period to a maximum duration of three years. Fellowship includes salary and paid teaching training and allocation of a teaching mentor. Application closing date is 13 October 2013.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Fellowship is available for Australian applicants (enrolled in a PhD at Melbourne Law School).
Scholarship Description: The aims of the Teaching Fellowship are to: Provide a range of teaching experiences that will allow you to develop skills over the period of your candidature (i.e. three years); Provide an additional source of income on top of your scholarship to allow focus on your PhD; Offer an opportunity to develop relationships with teaching mentors in addition to your PhD supervisors; Offer an opportunity to develop a teaching portfolio that will be recognized by universities as evidence of a Fellowâs credentials as having both a theoretical understanding and practical experience of teaching; and Involve Fellows in Melbourne Law Schoolâs vibrant and exceptional academic community. To this end, Fellows will be provided with a workspace, computing facilities, access to extensive resources (including staff common rooms in the Law School building), inclusion in regular Law School teaching and research seminars and a web profile/homepage as a Melbourne Law School Teaching Fellow.

Duration of award(s): The Teaching Fellowship is for one year, with a view to extending the Fellowship after each 12 month period to a maximum duration of three years. Continuation of the Fellowship after each year is contingent on: Satisfactory progress on the PhD thesis, including completing appropriate milestones, such as confirmation, in a timely fashion; and Satisfactory performance as a Teaching Fellow, evidenced by the teaching mentorâs annual report and the Fellowâs teaching results from teaching evaluations.
What does it cover? Salary: Anticipated at $11,000 â" $15,000 p.a. (based on Rates of Payment for Casual Academic Staff) plus 9.25% superannuation.

Notification: Short listed candidates will be required to attend a panel interview and it is anticipated that interviews will be conducted in late November 2013.
