2014 AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award PhD Studentships in History, UK

The University of Leicester, the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, and GW Pharmaceuticals are inviting applications from outstanding postgraduates for three AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award PhD studentships, to commence October 2013 or January 2014. UK/EU Applicants can apply for this Studentship. These three year studentships will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees and include an annual tax free stipend at standard AHRC rates. Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in history or a relevant discipline and meet the University’s Standard English language entry requirements. Three studentships are offered for three years. Application deadline is 4 November 2013.

Eligibility: Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in history or a relevant discipline and meet the University’s Standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree with merit or distinction or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before the start of the PhD programme.
In order to apply, applicants must fulfill both the academic and the residency criteria laid down by the AHRC.

-Have applied for and been offered a place to study at the University of Leicester (such an offer will be made to the successful applicant for this studentship)
-Hold a relevant postgraduate Masters degree
-Residency eligibility â€" you must:
-Be a British national normally resident in the UK, or
-Be an EU national normally resident in the UK, the EU or Switzerland, or
-Have been resident in the UK or EU for the past three years for reasons other than education

Scholarship Description: University of LeicesterThe University of Leicester, the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, and GW Pharmaceuticals are pleased to invite applications from outstanding postgraduates for three AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award PhD studentships, to commence October 2013 or January 2014. What does it cover? These three year studentships will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees and include an annual tax free stipend at standard AHRC rates (currently £13,726 a year). In addition, the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries will provide a bursary of £2,000 each for the first two studentships listed below and GW Pharmaceuticals will provide a bursary of £1,000.
