Cardiff University is offering a PhD scholarship in computer science & informatics. The scholarship is available for UK/EU and international students. The award will cover fees at the Home/EU fee rate and will provide an annual stipend (£13,726 in 2013/14) also includes provision of a laptop or desktop computer, and fund attendance at one national and one international conference during the three years of study. Eligibility: Academic Criteria:Â Candidates should:
-either have a good honours degree in a relevant discipline (minimum 2:1);
-or have (or expect to have from Autumn 2013) a Masters qualification in a relevant discipline, with distinction in the project;
-or have professional qualifications deemed by Cardiff University to be equivalent to the above;
-or be over 25 and have relevant work experience in a position of responsibility.
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)
Residency:Â The full award is open to all students of any nationality without restrictions.
Scholarship Open for International Students: UK/EU and International students can apply for the scholarship.
Scholarship Description: The Cardiff School of Computer Science & Informatics is a research-led School by one of the UKâs premier universities with a leading, international reputation for excellent teaching and research activities. The scholarship includes provision of a laptop or desktop computer, and fund attendance at one national and one international conference during the three years of study. To develop your teaching and research skills, and aid career development (either within or outside academia), a wide range of training courses and workshops are available to our postgraduate students. Students are also able to attend a wide range of Masters modules relevant to their research, across a number of Schools.

What does it cover? The award will cover fees at the Home/EU fee rate and will provide an annual stipend (£13,726 in 2013/14). If successful, an International candidate (non-EU) would need to self-fund the remainder of the overseas tuition fee.

How to Apply:Â Consideration is automatic on applying for the PhD in Computer Science and Informatics with an October 2013 start. In the Research Project Title field, enter âECR Scholarshipâ, followed by the title of the project for which you wish to apply.
