CSU Postgraduate Equity Scholarship in Australia, 2014

Charles Sturt University offers postgraduate equity scholarship for students of Australia. Applicants must be undertaking a postgraduate (coursework) course as an internal student or by distance education mode of study and meet satisfactory academic progress requirements defined as having and maintaining a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher if they are enrolled as a continuing student, unless there are exceptional circumstances. The Scholarship is valued at up to $2,000 per annum, payable to a maximum of one  year. The application deadline is 2 February 2014.

Eligibility: To apply, you must:
-be undertaking a postgraduate (coursework) course as an internal student or by distance education mode of study;
-be a commencing or continuing student at CSU;
-be enrolled as a full-time student (24 points or more per session);
-be studying your first postgraduate degree;
-meet satisfactory academic progress requirements defined as having and maintaining a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher if you are enrolled as a continuing student, unless there are exceptional circumstances;
-be of low socio-economic status, demonstrated by being in receipt of a means-tested Commonwealth income support payment such as the Yough Allowance, Austudy, Abstudy, Parenting Payment etc.  Family Tax Benefit A or B are not included.  If you do not receive a means-tested Commonwealth income payment, a comprehensive assessment will be conducted by or on behalf of CSU to determine whether you are of low socio-economic status;
-not be in receipt of a CSU Equity Scholarship (Undergraduate) or Commonwealth scholarship;
-be enrolled in a CSU course as a Commonwealth supported student;
-be an Australian Citizen, permanent Australian Resident, or the holder of a Humanitarian Visa; and
-not be in receipt of another scholarship or grant, either from CSU or elsewhere, to the value of $7,500 or more per annum.
Ongoing Eligibility Requirements: To continue to be eligible for this scholarship, recipients must, by the Census date of each subsequent session, continue to:
-be undertaking a postgraduate (coursework) course by on campus or distance education mode of study, as a Commonwealth supported student;
-be enrolled as a full-time student;
-maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, unless there are special circumstances;
-be of low socio-economic status (as noted above);
-be an Australian Citizen, permanent Australian Resident or the holder of a Humanitarian Visa;
-not be in receipt of a CSU Equity Scholarship (Undergraduate) or Commonwealth scholarship; and
-not be in receipt of another scholarship or grant, either from CSU or elsewhere, to the value of $7,500 or more per annum.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Australia can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: Students are facing increasing financial pressures as costs associated with tertiary education increase. In recognition of this, Charles Sturt University (CSU) has approved the allocation of funds for the purpose of providing equity scholarships to assist students from disadvantaged groups to study at CSU.
