Médéric Alzheimer Foundation is offering four doctoral scholarships in the humanities and social sciences. The scholarships are awarded annually in a lump sum of ⬠10,000 for the period of the academic year. These scholarships are open to those students who hold a Master 2 wishing to start a PhD or who are already enrolled in PhD in the humanities and social sciences in a French university. Applications should be submitted till September 9, 2013.

Eligibility: The contest is open to students:
- Hold a Master 2 wishing to start a PhD in the humanities and social sciences in a French university.
- Or who are already enrolled in PhD in humanities and social sciences in a French university.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of France can apply for these scholarships.
Scholarship Description: Médéric Alzheimer Foundation award in 2013 four doctoral scholarships . Scholarships, in the amount of ⬠10,000 each, renewable once , are open to doctoral students in the humanities and social sciences (anthropology, demography, law, economics, geography, philosophy, psychology, cognitive science, linguistics, political science, sociology) and Public Health, whose work focuses on:
the social issues arising from Alzheimerâs disease and related disorders
the improvement of the quality of life of patients and their caregivers, volunteers and professionals
Number of award(s): Médéric Alzheimer Foundation award in 2013 four doctoral scholarships.
Duration of award(s):Â Each annual scholarship awarded covers the period of the academic year. The decision on the renewal of the scholarship depends on the outcome of the evaluation of the work of the winner by the jury of the Foundation at the end of the first year.
What does it cover? The scholarships, awarded annually, are a lump sum of ⬠10,000, renewable once. Payment of doctoral fellowship
The first year: Payment is made in two stages:
-50% during the Foundation Day (to be held in early December 2013), and upon submission of proof of registration in thesis for the academic year 2013-2014 is ⬠5000,
-50% upon delivery of the progress report after oral presentation to the Foundation, and favorable opinion of the Jury Selection Awards, is ⬠5,000.
The second year: Payment is also made ??in two times:
-50% after renewal decision by the selection of Doctoral Fellowships and upon submission of proof of registration in thesis for the academic year 2014-2015 is ⬠5000,
-50% after the decision of the selection of the final report (or thesis if the student is in the last year) and after oral presentation to the Foundation, or ⬠5,000. The final report of maximum 6 pages written by the recipient of the PhD scholarship must be accompanied by a reasoned opinion of the supervisor. It should describe the objectives of the research, the methods used, the work, the results obtained, communications and publications made and the ethical framework in which research is conducted. It should indicate whether additional funds were obtained and submitted no later than September 2015.
Selection Criteria:Â The jury of the Foundation will be particularly sensitive to the following project features:
-relevance of research vis-Ã -vis the theme of Doctoral Fellowships 2013
-File Quality: first on the content (working hypotheses, methodology, problems, perspectives approach in terms of international, comparative literature), and secondly on the supplied parts (CV, cover letter, publications communications and the candidate)
-originality of the project in terms of research at national and international level,
- interdisciplinary approach and comparative approach at the international level,
-ethical framework for research.
Notification:Â Applicants will be notified of the juryâs decision only by official letter, during November 2013.
How to Apply:
-Application Form
- Reasoned opinion of the supervisor of the candidate and his research (which must contain the seal of the laboratory)
-Short presentation of the thesis in progress
-Summary of the current thesis,
-Required Signatures of the candidate and the supervisor,
-Permission to use the photograph.
- Proof
-Copy of an identity,
-Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum) with a list of all your publications and communications
- letter (maximum 2 pages)
- Identity Photography,
-Copies of diplomas and Master License,
-Application for Registration PhD or copy of student card 2013-2014 (if selected by the Jury Awards, it is imperative to send the proof of thesis registration for the academic year 2013 -2014 before 31 October 2013).
-A copy or a reprint of publications and communications in connection with the thesis.
NOTE: complete applications must be submitted in two copies, one unbound and not stapled before September 9, 2013 (date of the postmark) copy. Must indicate the word âoriginalâ on the folder containing the original signatures and original documents.
Scholarship Application Deadline:Â Deadline for receipt of applications is the September 9, 2013.
