Scholarships for Foreign European Students at University of Liège in Belgium, 2013/14

University of Liège is inviting applications for scholarships for European students or assimilate to pursue a master’s or complementary master’s degree. Approximately twenty scholarships will be awarded for one or two years (depending on the master’s program); one year (complementary master’s). The scholarship comprises 10 monthly payments of 500 €. Also included in the scholarship is one round trip ticket per year between Belgium and the student’s country of origin, (maximum: 300 € for neighboring countries, United Kingdom and Spain, and 600 € for other countries). The application deadline is 20/08/2013 for 2013/14 academic year.

Study Subject (s): Scholarships are awarded to pursue any one the course offered by university at master’s level.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s or complementary master’s program at ULg.

Eligibility:
-European student or assimilates graduated of the 1st or 2nd cycle, having been graduated for 3 years maximum, or in his/her last study year
The applicant must follow ULg’s general admission procedure. His/her completed  application, as well as his/her application for the scholarship described above, must be received by the admission office.

Scholarship Open for International Students: European (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and UK) or Foreign European (assimilate) students can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: University of LiègeThe funds are allocated to European students pursuing a master’s or complementary master’s degree at ULg, in order to match the additional costs related to mobility. The scholarship comprises 10 monthly payments of 500 €. If the student is enrolled in a two year master’s program, s/he will receive the identical amount in year two. In case of failure, the scholarship is stopped and the student may not apply again for this scholarship. Also included in the scholarship is one round trip ticket per year between Belgium and the student’s country of origin, (maximum: 300 € for neighboring countries, United Kingdom and Spain, and 600 € for other countries.). Once the scholarship application has been completed, students must then register as full time students in either a master’s or complementary master’s program and pay their tuition fees before money can be allocated.

Number of award (s): Approximately twenty scholarships will be allocated for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Duration of award (s): Scholarships are offered for one or two years (depending on the master’s program); one year (complementary master’s).

Selection Criteria: Candidates will be selected by a committee comprised of administrative and academic authorities, the first selection will be held in June and second selection end of August. Selection criteria:
- Satisfaction of eligibility requirements
- Academic record quality
- Students demonstrating a good knowledge of the language of instruction will receive preference.

How to Apply: Applications are to be submitted by post individually in English or French before 01/06/2013 or before 20/08/2013 and will include:
- A completed admissions application:
- The attached scholarship application;
- A personal cover letter;
- The transcript of records of the Erasmus stays at ULg, if applicable.
-A copy of the application must also be sent by e-mail: anne-laure.villeminot-at-ulg.ac.be.
