-Consideration will normally only be given to students with a GPA of 7.5 or better (on a 9 point scale). This is above an average grade of A-.
-GPA calculations: Â GPA scores are calculated in New Zealand using a nine point scale. This scale runs from 9 for an A+ grade, 8 for an A grade, 7 for an A- grade and so on down to 1 for a C- or R grade.
-GPA scores are calculated for applicants for Massey University scholarships and bursaries using grades from the two most recent years of study. If a student did not take a full programme of study (120 credits at Massey University) in one of these years, grades from earlier years (full semesters) are used to make up the minimum of two full years of study. The grade from the most recent year, or most recent 120 credits of papers, is given a weighting of 0.7 and grades for the other year are given a weighting of 0.3.
-GPA scores for international students are calculated using grades from the two most recent years of study in the same way as scores are calculated for domestic students. The calculation of GPA scores takes into account the characteristics of the grading system for degrees from each country. The calculation converts grades from overseas into numbers that are used in the New Zealand nine point GPA scale. If the most recent year of study for an overseas student was completed in New Zealand, their GPA score is calculated using a combination of their New Zealand grades and their overseas grades.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Domestic, Maori and International Students can apply for these scholarships.
